Adjustment period
I started my MEY job at the Canadian Space Agency on January 9. I work in the commercialization office and help identify and manage the intellectual property developed at the agency. It's a pretty cool job and it's been really interesting to work for the government so far.

The office is in Longueuil (pronounced "long-guye"... haha, gay...) which is on the South Shore, across the river from Montréal. It's a fairly 9 to 5 job with not too much stress so far, which I want. Hopefully this will continue into the summer so I can explore the city and party without too much work on my mind.
It's a great office with a gym (the astronaut training facility), mission control for the Canadarm on the space station, and the training facilities for operating the Canadarm. Pretty cool stuff... never thought I'd see anything like this.
Right now I'm living with family friends in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. It's a suburb on the West Island, about a 30 minute drive west of downtown. However, I don't drive... therefore, it takes me an hour to get downtown. However, I don't work downtown... therefore, it takes me an hour more to get to work. That's right kids, 2 hours to work each way. Ya, I'm tired.

Thankfully, the Metro is really quick and ON TIME. No more waiting endlessly for a bus that may or may not show up. If it says it'll leave at 5:47 PM (or 17h47 in "Quebec time"), it will leave at 5:47 PM. Pretty glad, especially since waiting in -20 degrees celsius is not very fun.
The family I'm living with is amazing. I honestly could not have met nicer people. I was nervous moving in with people I've never met, but I have to say that it's been fantastic living here. It's made the transition really easy, and it's a good opportunity to get used the new surroundings.

It's been good to eat some good pancit and adobo too... yeye.
